I doubt if there is a more important group for the future of our country and our children than people who work in education. I also doubt if there is a more maligned group. The responsibilities and pressures they face are enormous. These pressure can come from inside education and outside such as in the political sphere. Some
educators work with children
who have no parental support or financial security, while others work with students who are
facing incredible physical and mental challenges, while yet others work with the challenge of
keeping incredibly gifted students stimulated and eager for more. It is terribly important that
this group does not burn out. I truly do feel honored to do what I can to be of support to them.
Are you looking for a
humorous back to
school speaker to help fire up your staff and "inoculate" them
against burnout?Dr. Sheperd will
start them off right.
With over 25 years experience working with education professionals, ranging from bus drivers
to administrators, Dr. Sheperd has done key note types of presentations and small group sessions,
facilitating discussions designed to help the participants move past some problems.
Presentations are tailored to meet your specific needs, i.e. working with difficult
students and families,
coping with staff problems, general stress issues, and things like
coping with the death of a student or staff member.
So, what can Scott do to help your employees?
- I can help them reduce their stress
level.
- I can help them be more aware of the
language they use to describe their situations, and how that
language can make things worse or better.
- I can help them see the world with new
eyes and learn how to share the gift of a bright experience.
- I will demonstrate to your people the bad thinking
habits they have probably acquired through the years and show
them how to change
- I will give them strategies they can use so they will not be
overwhelmed by people who seem to love being miserable.
- I will help your people rediscover why they got into the education profession.
Dr. Sheperd has gone into schools to work with staff on very specific problems,
perhaps dealing with problem staff interactions, or perhaps to help staff deal with the
loss of a colleague or student. Additionally, he has done presentations to students
to help them with issues around self-esteem, stress, and coping with loss (usually after
the death of a fellow student.) To learn more about this program or to schedule me to speak at your next workshop or seminar, click on
